Archbishop of Colombo His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith has stated that it is the responsibility of one and all to safeguard peace that has been ushered in while enjoying its benefits.
He pointed out that the people should not be trapped in foreign conspiracies. Speaking further the Archbishop of Colombo stated that certain countries which preach to us have a lot to conceal. He said that creating rifts among communities is an international conspiracy. The people of this country should not be trapped in it. He said that the journey towards the economic prosperity should be undertaken with the people belonging to all communities with mutual respect. He said that permitting outsiders to meddle with the internal affairs of the country is similar to committing suicide. He expressed these views when he participated in the inaugural function of the mission hall at St. Anne’s church in Beruwala. Minister Rajitha Senaratne was amongst the people’s representatives who participated in the occasion.
