Christmas gifts for disabled children in the north

Add comments

The message of Christmas is healing the hearts wounded due to the terrorism in the north.

Although terrorism was annihilated by the Humanitarian Operation its remnants recall the brutality of terrorism. Small children who have been disabled are one such example. The LTTE terrorism that was brutal enough to snatch thousands of children from mother Lanka also harmed them. Peace dawned on the country bringing relief to the young hearts. A special function was held in Jaffna for the children disabled due to the conflict. Governor of the Northern Province G.A. Chandrasiri distributed gifts to the children and they sang Christmas carols to express their joy, displaying the real meaning of Christmas.

Meanwhile a record number of tourists have arrived in the south of the country before the dawn of the New Year.

The Sri Lankan government has taken all possible measures to provide the maximum facilities to them including the several tourism promotional zones launched in the southern province. Christmas celebrations are organised in many hotels in the country while decorations have also been made. A special programme has also been launched to monitor the hygienic standard of hotels and eateries.
