Expired coriander seized

A stock of 21 thousand 750 kilograms of expired coriander unsuitable for human consumption has been recovered from a food processing centre at Shivananda Road in Kotahena.


The Consumer Affairs Authority carried out the raid on the instructions of Minister Johnston Fernando. The Consumer Affairs Authority estimated the value of the stock of coriander at nearly 3.5 million rupees.


The Authority said that these expired stocks were being used for the processing of spices targeting the festive season.
