The meeting of Senior Officials of the Colombo Process Strategic Vision for 2014/15 begins in Colombo. 11 countries are participating.
The Colombo Process Strategic Vision is a dialogue platform of 11 countries supplying migrant workers from Asia. The countries are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Sri Lanka. The aim of the Colombo Process is to engage in a dialogue with member countries to make optimum use of labour migration and to create the environment necessary to work in cooperation with problems related to labour migration.
Minister Dilan is the chair of the Colombo Process. The meeting which commenced in Colombo under his patronage will continue tomorrow.
