The war heroes sacrificed their lives to build an undivided country.

War heroes of our era gave up their lives to enthrone permanent peace in the country which was plague with a 30-year cruel war.

The Channel of the motherland stepped into another Heroes Palace in search of another group of eternal heroes.

They donated their eyes, heads, hands and limbs for our sake to breathe a sigh of relief and lead peaceful lives. At a time when we commemorate the war heroes who sacrificed their lives on behalf of us, we went in search of the war heroes of the era who were rendered disabled for our sake. Does such a place exist in any other part of the world? What is the fate that has befallen the soldier who suffered disability in countries where battles raged? They return to their homes only with a compensation, and a service appreciation letter. But we came across a location where new life is being given to the genuine war heroes in this island nation where a war that plagued the country for 30 years for donating their eyes, heads, hands and limbs for the nation.

The valiant soldiers succeeded in enthroning permanent peace in the country due to the unwavering leadership of the Commander in Chief and people’s leader President Rajapaksa and the correct guidance of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and providing a fitting lesson to the entire world routing the LTTE terrorist outfit which the world claimed over and over again to be indomitable.

The war has now ended. Peace has been enthroned. Members of the Forces are drawing salaries. It’s sufficient. There may have been leaders and Governments which had this view. But the war hero in the past is also a hero today because terrorism was vanquished during a people’s friendly regime and a people’s leader that do not think so. Therefore the Mihindu Seth Medura has been built through Api Wenuwen Api due to Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa;s untrammeled love and care for the war heroes. The Mihindu Seth Medura takes total care of the war heroes who were disabled in the operations launched to rout the terrorists.

Some war heroes were brought to the Mihindu Seth Medura as dead bodies. But they have received new life due to the compassionate humanitarian operation. Such a humanitarian service is not witnessed in any part of the world. This hero who was an active person at that time during the operation, has to seek the support of another. It should be emphatically mentioned that heroes who were colleagues of these soldiers are now aiding and supporting them. As a result of this brotherhood, these soldiers have received new life and courage.

How great and significant should be this concept which is not witnessed in any part of this globe. How valuable is this concept? This idea was mooted by Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa who was the real guiding light.

Now its time to leave. Some are considering forgetting these war heroes. But the Channel of the motherland is not so. This is the main reason why ITN stepped into the Mihindu Seth Medura located at Attidiya. The few hours that Channel spent at this site was memorable.
