Work on the Ranbima Nivahana Housing programme commences. Permanent houses are to be built for the low income in the North Central Province.
The launch of the programme for the construction of permanent houses for homeless low income families within the North Central Province centering the Medawachchiya, Kebetigollewa and Thrippone areas, commenced with the participation of North Central Chief Minister S.M. Ranjith.
30 houses will be constructed under the first stage. Each house will cost around 1.3 million rupees. The Divisional Secretariat, the Police, the Army and the Civil Defence Department are supporting the programme.
