The supply of water for Colombo and several suburban areas will be suspended for a period of 48 hours with effect from 10 pm tomorrow. The supply of water will be disrupted due to the laying of new pipelines close to the proposed Battaramulla -Polldhuwe bridge to link the flow of water to the main line from Ambatale to Dehiwala. Issuing a communique, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board said supplies will be disrupted for a period of 48 hours with effect from 10 pm tomorrow until 10 pm on Sunday. Thereby, the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Authority area, Soysapura, Mulleriyawa North, Battaramulla as well as Colombo 04, 05 and 06 Zones will be affected by this move. The Board also said that the supply of water to Colombo 03 and 07 will be made under low pressure.
