The Sri Lankan President who arrived in La Paz City in Bolivia received a very warm welcome. President Rajapaksa, who traveled to Bolivia to participate in the G77+China Summit in Santa Cruz, arrived in the Bolivian city of La Paz on Monday Morning (Bolivia time). The President was received by high-level Bolivian officials at the El Alto International Airport and honored with a military welcome. After being accorded a warm welcome at the Airport the President was accompanied on a red carpet and a military guard of honour was accorded on his behalf. The officials were of the opinion that President Rajapaksa’s visit to Bolivia is a milestone in bilateral relations between the two countries. President Rajapaksa said this is a new beginning in bilateral relations with both Bolivia and South America overall.
