Basil is not going to come into politics again

Basil is not going to come into politics again ....

Gota is supposed to come separately

Internal political sources say that former President's
brother and ex-Minister Basil Rajapaksa who returned to the island yesterday had said that he would not be taking part in politics once again.

This idea was inferred by him on a query posed to him by the media yesterday and what he said was that he came here yesterday to assist in police inquiries related to him. Whatever it is, what he kept on reiterating was that the Rajapaksas have not been looting the money of the public.

The main reason in this case is that what contributed as the factors among primary causes for the past general election to be defeated was the arrival of Basil to politics which Mahinda sects had realised as resulting in being a disadvantage in future which in turn was Basil being the source for which he was responsible to several financial transactions for which the former regime had no answer. Wimal Weeravansha who presently happens to be the most cordial friend of Mahinda had told BBC a few weeks before this, expressing the ideas by citing the name of Basil that the latter was the cause of the defeat. Even though Basil came to the island yesterday, What Mahinda said last evening was that he is not aware that Basil had come.

Even if Basil would not step into politics, internal political sources report that Gotabhaya would be coming into politics after the general election is announced and that Gotabhaya's political campaign would be prepared with a different image without being combined with that of Mahinda.
