Keheliya served summons for alleged ‘pipe’ transaction at State Rupavahini Corporation
Former media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and two
others have been served summons to appear before courts on the 20th of next month.The other two who have been served summons to appear at the Colombo Magistrates courts are the former Chairman of the Rupavahini Corporation Wimal Rubasinghe and the former Director General of the State Rupavahini Corporation Chandrapala Liyanage.
The summons has been issued on the complaint made to the Chief Magistrate of the Colombo Magistrates courts by the Officials of the Bribery and Corruption unit.
The reason for serving summons has been revealed that a loss had been incurred to the State Rupavahini Corporation by them in connection on the purchase of a stock of pipes at a cost of rupees 9,90,000/-This was after an investigation was conducted on a complaint received by the Bribery and Corruption unit. All three have been served with summons to appear at the Chief Magistrates courts on the next 20th.
