Somananda Thera quizzed on complaint lodged on allegation against distribution of Rs 60 b worth ‘Sil’ attires for Mahinda’s campaign
An advisor on Buddhist affairs to the former president Mahinda
Rajapaksa, famous Buddhist monk, Venerable Watinapana Somananda thera has been quizzed by the Colombo Financial crimes investigation unit on a complaint made to the fact that for the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa’s presidential election campaign ‘Sil’ attires estimated at rupees 60 billion had been distributed.
Venerable Watipana Somananda thera had worked closely with former president Mahinda Rajapaksa as a presidential advisor on Buddhist affairs.
