Freedom Alliance was the talk amongst the supporters of the party and this was said in the newspapers too.The last day for the submission of the list of Members nominated to the National list was to end buy noon last Monday.The main reason was that the list of the allocated 29 members there were a number of them already nominated by the HE President Maithripala Sirisena.
The name of Hali Ela UPFA Member of Parliament Dilan Perera was not that sure. However at the last moment his name was included and in the eleventh hour he had submit his form to the elections commissioner’s office from the party office after all the formalities were completed. Vehicles were also provided for Dilan Perera to travel to Rajagiriya electionssecretariat from the SLFP headquarters in Darley road,Colombo 10.
The papers were ready only at 11.30 and travelling by any vehicle to reach Rajagiriya before 12 noon was rather difficult. Hence Member of Parliament Dilan Perera had opted to be taken on the pillion seat of a motorcycle and had reached Rajagiriya Elections secretariat at 11 53 am just 07 minutes before the applications were closed.
