The appointed Member of Parliament Wimal Weerawansa had prevented the President
Maithripala Sirisena in been in the fore front of appointing a leader of the opposition in the proposed parliament that is to formed in the next few days. The approval had been given to the central committee of the United Peoples Freedom Party. But according to the meeting that was held today in this regard at the President's official residence the appointment should not be made by the President was added by the Member of Parliament Wimal Weerawansa.At this meeting with all the opposition party leaders a request was made for the President to remain silent the appointment of the opposition leader be allowed to be made with a collective agreement of the leaders of the UPFA parties. For this the President Maithripala Sirisena had given his approval and had consented in electing the leader of the opposition.
