What Sobitha  thera had said before  he left to Singapore

Before the most Venerable Sobitha thera was taken to a hospital in
Singapore for treatment he had been very ill and during the last days in Sri Lanka had met the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe and spoken on several matters. These matters were disclosed by the new convenor
of the national movement for a just and a free society Professor Sarath Wijesuriya when he was interviewed by a weekend newspaper 'Lakbima'. This was what he had to stay.

What the Sobitha thera wanted mostly was the President and the Prime Minister to sit on one table to discuss matters without any conflicts and differences. Within a national government what is needed to resolve every matter amicably. The thera believed that if they disagree on matters would bring in disharmony and conflicts in the country.

Before he left the country to Singapore he wanted the Prime Minister to work in harmony with the President and proceed to develop the country. He wanted to make certain sacrifices  in this process. He also wanted all independent commissions to be established and law and order to be reinstated.

At all instances the most Venerable Sobitha thera wanted to be in the forefront of the progress of the country. This quality was observed in him until the time he passed away. During other times when in conversation he never spoke about personal glory and connected matters. What he said always was to work towards developing the country.
