Sri Lanka Airlines would not be sold, the management will be made private
The state Minister of Finance Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena had said that the Sri Lanka Airlines has made a loss of nearly rupees one hundred billion.
When the committee was appointed by the Prime Minister to find why these loses had taken place they had revealed that it had been due to poor management.They hadconcluded that the Sri Lanka Airlines could not be able to continue to run in the same way without changing the management.
Emirates Airlines it had yielded a profit in the year 2009.
Hence a similar change has to be made by changing the management.The Sri Lanka Airlines would not be sold but only the management would be taken over by a private company the Minister had added.
