The son in law of OIC Horowpathana has been caught after killing his daughter and injuring mother in law
It is reported from Horowpatana where on the 26th early morning that the twenty two year old
daughter of the Officer in charge of the Horowpatana police station, Inspector of police Ruwan Sanjeewa’s and his forty four old mother in law have been stabbed by a sharp instrument by his son in law.
After the stabbing the daughter of one child Malsha Sanjeewani of the OIC of the Horowpathana police station had succumbed to her injuries. The mother in law of the OIC had received serious injuries. The mother and daughter wife of the OIC had been living in the 20 acre village in Galenbindunuwewa.
After the two were seriously injured by the stab injuries they had been admitted to the Galenbindunuwewa hospital and thereafter to the Anuradhapura Teaching hospital. The daughter had succumbed to her injuries at around 4.40 am in the morning while the mother in law of the OIC is receiving treatment for her serious injuries.
The daughter of the OIC and his son in law a twenty four year has been employed as a push cycle repairing mechanic had not been in good terms. The son in law owing to some conflict had been staying away for the residence of the OIC. On the morning of the 26th at around 1.30am. he had been passing the residence of the OIC after a party along with a group of friends while been drunk. He had stopped at the OIC’s residence. After a heated argument the son in law had pulled a sharp knife and started to stab the wife and her mother who had come to rescue her daughter.
The OIC had heard the noise and had come to rescue the injured.The son in law had fled away. He had been hiding in a house in the Dutuwewa area.The police had been able to locate him. At that time he had been trying to drink poison and to commit suicide.
He had also been admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching hospital for treatment.
