Tomorrow the 23rd is not a Public holiday
Although it was announced earlier that owing to Vesak falling on Saturday and Sunday the 21st and 22 and instants the Monday the 23rd was declared a public holiday by the Minister of home affairs and management Vajira Abeywardena. However this decision has been revokes as the government
servants have to work around the clock to assist the flood victims. Hence the officials of the ministry of home affairs and management had declared the 23rd Monday as a working day foe all government servants.This was announced by the secretary of the Ministry Dadalla to the media. The schools in Colombo and other areas not affected by floods otherwise notified to close would be opened for students.All schools where affected persons are housed and those schools directly affected by floods would not be opened.
However all schools in the Sabaragamuwa province have been instructed to remain closed until further notice.
