Transfer for Principal of Ananda
Mr. Kithsiri Liyanagamage, Principal of Ananda College, Colombo has been given a transfer to the Education Office of Southern Province, it is reported. During the recent past the Principal was confronted with issues relating to audit reports and
a protest had been launched by some group about Mr. Liyanagamage being expelled from the school.Prior to this, problems had emerged regarding the Principal of Royal College and he was ousted and by now certain issues have surfaced over Nalanda Vidyalaya too. After problems have come up over the procedure of installing stable Principals for all leading schools in Colombo it has still faced a drawback with Mr. Liyanagamage making a request from the Education Ministry to give him a transfer and in response the Southern Province has granted him consent to provide him with a position. Mr. Liyanagamage has been an Education Director of the Southern Province even before this. News has circulated that it is expected to appoint a Principal of a leading school in Kandy as the next Principal of Ananda.
