16 crores pinched during printing ... at the rate of 16 cents per ticket!
Mrs. Sharmila Perera, Chairman of National Lotteries Board has revealed that over 10 crores has been frauded at the time Govisetha, Jathika Sampatha, Wasana Sampatha and Supiri Wasana Sampatha lottery tickets by the Company who printed those tickets, at the rate of 16 cents per
ticket. This fraud came to light during the internal audit investigation carried out by the National Lotteries Board. The Chairman who further spoke said that "Several massive scale frauds have occured within the National Lotteries Board. Only a cost of 36 cents is expended to print one lottery ticket. But during the past period the private Company that printed the tickets has acquired a sum of 53 -- 55 cents for printing a single ticket. It should be immediately inquired as to whose pocket this money went across this Company. Even the tickets printed after obtaining extra funds from the government too are below the standard criterion".
