The suspected woman is supposed to be a teacher attached to a school in Weligama.Her husband has been involved in a love affair with a neighbouring woman.The wife has had told the husband to stop this relationship a number of times.As he had not heeded to the advise through sheer anger she had poured hot water on his vital organs.The husband has been admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching hospital for treatment of his vital organs.
The Chief Magistrate of the Matara Magistrate's courts Ms Uresha de Silva had allowed bail to the teacher on the production of a body surety amounting to Rs 02 lakhs.
Weligama Police is conducting further investigations.
