I feel sad about the port constructed with goodwill being sold -- Mahinda Rajapaksa

I feel sad about the port constructed with goodwill being sold -- Mahinda Rajapaksa

Former President Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa has called for a special media discussion at Carlton House in Tangalla about the Port of Hambantota being leased out to China.

This is what he said: "I believe that great hopes of my father, my father's brother and people like Ananda, Kularatna of the United National Party had to build this port. So we built the port which was said could not be built. For this, nothing was taken from government funds to be paid back. Even the
loan was paid back from what was earned from the Ports Authority. But now this has been sold. The port built up with devotion; feel a lot sad about people's aspirations. They say that they did not sell ... given on a 99 year lease. You know, that during within this period of 99 years of land tax how many generations lived! This is something which was to be owned by people and the offspring of our land. Before this, Mr. J.R. Jayawardene signed the Indo-Ceylon Agreement also on a 29th July like this. This date is malefic to Sri Lanka.

So after signing, we still suffer. Even today we are being battered. It was in this month of 29th in eighty seven that this Agreement was signed. At that time it was with India and today with a company from China. In the same way once again J.R.'s grandson now gets together in unison with President getting round Sri Lanka Freedom Party and having made agreements, has sold this. We always expressed protest about an asset of the public of this country being lost.

If necessary the port could be made to run, if properly executed. If there is a necessity the port could even be closed. A programme to develop this could be launched. But now it has been given to a foreign company. The government has a severe grudge against Mattala Airport. It is a grudge and jealousy that operates with the Hambantota people. Planes came to Mattala Airport. People in this location know about it. Every country should have 2 airports. Soon after coming to power what was done was to make Mattala a paddy-storing warehouse. It was made a paddy-storeroom where paddy was stored and having disparaged and destroyed it, then closed it up. That is what this government did. Now after having closed it, sells it saying it is of no use ... that it is something that has no aeroplanes. Who is it that stopped planes coming to the airport? The airport and the port was not made solely for people in Hambatota ... for the entire country. This is an asset which the whole country lost. A very malefic time has dawned on the land".

Hulabaloo after Gayathri's love affair broke up!

Hulabaloo after Gayathri's love affair broke up!

Hulabaloo after Gayathri's love affair broke up!

After a certain lady complained that tele-actress Gayathri Dias had grabbed her lover and that story was circulating across social media, Gayathri had responded to it in a shaken up mood across a Rupavahini channel last week. She had remarked "In future it will come out across newspapers and names of several persons who were closely associated with me will be revealed". Exactly as she said she has mentioned
that incident in detail to a weekend newspaper this time.

Gayathri happens to be the legal wife of Channa Perera and the mother of 2 children. When inquiring into the reply she had given at this interview it is quite evident that she is in an entirely different world of her own having distanced herself from that family and there are clues to say that her heartache has not been targeted at the female who has woven up false stories but at Anuj Ranasingha the model who incidentally became Mr. Sri Lanka 2011 and after having struck up an intimate relationship with her has now gone behind abandoning her. That discussion is as follows:

* What is this that has happened Gayathri ... to the extent that websites have gone mad?
It's a gift that was given to me by several of those who knew me during a period of time which now has flared up like this. If it's something true I can make up my mind thinking that it's of course a fault of mine. But what I feel sorry is what happened because of a story without any foundation as such.

* Who's this lady who destroys you across Facebook?
I came to know of this female in 2015. It was at a Katina Pinkama held at the amateur actor Anuj Ranasingha, the performer's house. Since a certain person shouting about and comporting herself in an unbefitting manner at the occasion ... I asked Anuj who it was. Then Anuj said it was someone whom he came to know at the gym. That day I attended the Pinkama with an ailment in my foot. It was even difficult for me to walk. Having seen this condition she came and spoke. What she wanted was to get friendly with me. Somehow or other she applied oil on my foot and struck up a friendship with me.

* That friendship looks like it was not confined to the Katina Pinkama?
Yes. As she was a friend of Anuj and with the approval of Anuj that I kept on with that friendship. She was someone who moves around with many males, frequents night clubs and dresses immodestly. Since it's her privacy I won't make it relevant to me. She used to accompany me on journeys which I undertook alone. That was on her and Anuj's wishes. She came with me to attend many a festival after asking me whether she could come. It was later that I came to know that she attended those occasions to which she was not invited and made alliances by thus making use of me. She could get friendly with any person quickly. But even if she returned at 2 or 3 in the morning she never gets herself dropped at home. She would get down at a three-wheel park somewhere in Moratuwa and walk away. She hasn't ever shown where she was living.

* Is she connected to acting, modelling?
No ... what she wanted was to get herself connected to those things. It was for that that she sharply used us.

* Then did she do any job?
No ... not to my knowledge. From where she gets the money I don't know.

* There was a close relationship between you and Anuj. Both of you travelled together. Appeared on media together. You provided a good boost up for Anuj. Both of you got together and even conducted a business. Now has that connection also been thunderstruck?
Yes. Anuj started an affair with the new actress called Dusheni Silva. I was not aware of it. Some days back I went to Canada for a week. It was Anuj himself who dropped me at the airport. However it was from that day that he changed. Thinking that my friendship was an obstacle for their new affair he had taken a decision on his own. Only when inquiring about the change that I came to hear the news.

* What you say is that Anuj climbed the tree and kicked the ladder?
Definitely yes. But if I was left to live alone by myself I could have made up my mind. But because of things that he does to get marks from his new lover I have been inconvenienced and subjected to shame.

* That lady accuses you saying that you grabbed her boy friend. Having tried to gratify yourself ... you got trapped in another snare?
I am not such a foolish woman. That referred-to lady and the performer called Dinesh was sent to me in a strategic manner to convey the idea that I am a worry to Anuj and to save him.

* Did you worry Anuj?
Are you mad? If he has no use of my friendship why should I go behind him? But Anuj spoke to me even after he went. He spoke as if he doesn't feel anything about Dusheni. But I told him to do what he's doing ... frankly. Later on he didn't speak to me. When Anuj used to speak to me frequently and tell faults of Dusheni I would convey that to Dusheni. It was after that, that Anuj blocked me from fb.

* Is that performer called Dinesh and that female both lovers?
No ... both are only friends of Anuj. The lover of that lady is Rumesh Atalugama. Rumesh is a malli aged 22 years who stepped into the field anew. This lady says that he is 24 years old. But there's information to say that she's someone over 40 years having a child also. She has carried on this affair after hiding these things from us and Rumesh also. However Rumesh has tried to put a stop to this affair. So this lady who has lost her head is trying to drag me too into this story.

* But what this lady says is that you had grabbed her lover called Dinesh. This is a mind-boggling story isn't it?
That story was initially made up by Anuj. Anuj himself has told here and there that the person whom he sent to me for help has struck up a connection with me. I came to know about those things also. Just as much as I have no alliance with Dinesh he is not that lady's lover either. Her lover is Rumesh.

* Then what about the photo that appeared over websites?
The genuine photo of that is with me. Rumesh, Dinesh, I and that referred to lady are in that photo. That photo was taken when attending a match played in Wennappuwa. I had gone earlier while Rumesh, Dinesh and that lady came later. It was I who invited the three of them. It was a photo taken at that time. It was after editing it that, that lady slings mud at me. Rumesh is not there in the photo that was so edited.

* That lady has even inserted very private photos in the Facebook Account with your face injured.
Yes. At that time I was truly very friendly with her and I sent her extremely personal photos of mine ... that was because I believed she was a friend of mine. Now she's throwing mud at me from those very photos.

* Didn't you tell these things to Anuj?
Since he's not responding to my calls I told Dinesh himself to ask him to stop these things and if not that I'll have to expose the root-story of these photos. Though he gave a cool response to it, that lady had been notified and the photos have been removed. But that lady had inserted a post saying "On a special request the photos of having been beaten have been removed ... await from Gossip". Not only that, when this upset was taking place Anuj spoke to me and asked what is this that's happening. I told him to tell that lady not to make false allegations against me. But he evaded it saying that it's not relevant to him as such.

* How can you specifically say that Anuj is connected to that mud-slinging campaign launched by that lady?
I also didn't think so at the start. But I confirmed it from comments sent to that lady's posts. These things are good lessons for me ... when getting attached I go to help without limits ... become frank. I didn't even think of their level or status. If I did so, like that lady, Anuj wouldn't have preyed on my friendship.

* When lodging with dogs ... have to get up with ticks?
The sad part of it is that all the while knowing about it I found myself lodging with dogs.

* She even sends broadcasts that Gayathri has been expelled by Channa. That issue has even invaded Gayathri's home?
All of them tried to create problems at home too. But luckily they weren't able to do so. Even now I am in my house with Channa aiya and two children.

* Is Channa aware of these issues?
He's a person who lives in a very respectable way. He doesn't go through gossip. He has other work more than that. Even upto now he has not questioned me about this. Because of a shooting-stint of a new teledrama Channa aiya is in Maskeliya these days ... even told me and children to come over for a holiday. We'll be going to Channa aiya some day next week.

* When are you going abroad Gayathri?
Have to go abroad because of children's education ... no. That also will be somewhere at the end of this year or towards the beginning of next year.

- Himesha Rajapaksha -

An accusation made by a female that her boy was grabbed away -- reply by Gayathri (video)

An accusation made by a female that her boy was grabbed away -- reply by Gayathri (video)

A certain lover supposed to be in love with a boy and the boy concerned is involved in a love affair with tele actress Gayathri Dias. The lover has continuously found fault with Gayathri as repeatedly mentioned across the Facebook. From what Gayathri said at a TV 1 channel last week it confirms that she had got shaken up over this issue circulating over the internet.

This is what she said on that occasion: "These days
I am very popular. People become popular in various ways at various times. These days some are trying to focus my name and become a hit. That actually is the best word in that context. So I don't know ... I of course don't understand. I have a 12 year old daughter. One girl ... no, a lady about 40 years old ... a 22 or 23 year old boy ... she says is her boy friend okay ... so I am supposed to have grabbed him. So it's very shameful. I don't want to mention their names and and make them a hit ... in Facebook. So her friends may be knowing who it is. So in the future it will come out in the newspapers and across the law and those things will change. Sometimes names of several of those who kept close connections with me will come out. What to do?

This activity is going on for 2 weeks ... among their friends. I didn't speak just because a dog bites me ... I don't have the habit of biting a dog. The other thing is that everybody knows that the kind called crabs keep struggling about only till the gravy is on the fire. So, may the blessings of the Buddha be with you!"

We who inquired about this phenomenon were able to find that it was the person called Dinanya Peiris who is engaged as a professional model who has blamed Gayathri across the social media. She has publicised various things saying that Gatathri has grabbed her young lover from her. Some of those things and the video displaying Gayathri replying with a swirling mind about it, from below

"Not a 'stray case' though the media spokesman said so -- the gunman's target was me"

"Not a 'stray case' though the media spokesman said so -- the gunman's target was me"

Judge Ilanchelian made an explanation to the media yesterday by inferring that ideas expressed by the Police Media Spokesman were not correct in relation to the attack launched near the vehicle in which Judge Ilachelian was travelling, thus killing a police officer in Nallur area in Jaffna recently.

What he says is that this was not a stray incident and that the gunman's target was him. Since a court
case is still in operation he said that he is not prepared to reveal further about it and said "The Police Spokesman's voice means the voice of the State and the voice of the State means the voice of the government. He should act with responsibility. But the statement he presented to the media was without responsibility. I don't like to express my opinion about it as a Judge in High Court. According to the main victim and from eye-witness accounts it is seen that the target was the Judge. Both these police officers tried their best to protect me. Since this is a judicial matter nobody can interfere with these investigations. If somebody interferes ... it means that that the judiciary is subjected to contempt thereby".

Kolonnawa workers obstruct train transporting fuel to airport

The heated situation which flared up near Kolonnawa Petrol storage facility that came under Army control after last night's operations has still not subsided as such.

The demonstrators have protested expressing their protest against the train which came to Kolonnawa petrol storage terminal to collect fuel by lying down
along the railway track saying that they will not allow fuel to be taken. As a result, armed Army personnel were summoned separately to remove the demonstrators from there. As a consequence anti-riot units and 4 water-cannon vehicles had been called to the spot already with a heavy traffic congestion being created along Kolonnawa - Colombo main route in the process.

This commotion has taken place when this train was on  its way to collect petrol required for the airport. Even prior to this some workers have attempted to hamper distribution by deflating tyres of bowsers.

Gazette Notice by President that Petroleum services are essential -- Army takes over powers of Kolonnawa Terminal -- signs of distributing fuel from 10 in the morning

The government has decided not to go into agreement with regard to the strike launched by petroleum workers throughout yesterday. In the meantime steps have been taken after releasing a gazette to the effect that petroleum services is deemed essential and measures have been adopted to continue distribution of petrol utilising services of Army personnel and necessary legal procedures would be adopted to  dismiss workers found still
engaged in the strike.

According to the gazette released by President's Secretary Mr. Austin Fernando last midnight (25), supplying of all petroleum products and liquid gas in addition to supplying and distribution of fuel has been made essential. "Who's closing the gates ... open! Army or any fellow comes ... Won't let any browser go out!"

The conflict which flared up last night at Kolonnawa Petroleum storage terminal between petroleum workers and the Army turned into a heated atmosphere.

Though at first the workers closed the gates and prevented the Army from entering, in the presence of armed forces, the workers had
nothing to say or do and were forced to give in by opening the gates. Later though a crowd behaved in an agitated manner with the Army, a few minutes later they withdrew. Subsequently trade union leaders who launched the 'battle' began to shout out and release announcements saying "We won't let a single bowser leave this premises!" According to the present situation a number of bowsers have been sent out by the Army. The Derana video, from below
