The conflict which flared up last night at Kolonnawa Petroleum storage terminal between petroleum workers and the Army turned into a heated atmosphere.
Though at first the workers closed the gates and prevented the Army from entering, in the presence of armed forces, the workers had
nothing to say or do and were forced to give in by opening the gates. Later though a crowd behaved in an agitated manner with the Army, a few minutes later they withdrew. Subsequently trade union leaders who launched the 'battle' began to shout out and release announcements saying "We won't let a single bowser leave this premises!"
