Prior to this, as the person by the name of Lochana Suranga Perera maintaining a printing press in Gampaha was released on bail last 30th in relation to this case as he was not directly involved in this incident. The Royal College student was released on bail after obtaining permission to sit for the Advanced Level final question paper of the common examination and was to sit for that exam.

The hi-tech devices had been brought down by the student's dental-doctor father from overseas for the son to carry out this fraud, it was revealed. The Chemistry tuition master during the process of the exam had provided the service of relaying live answers by stationing himself at the dentist's home down Cotta Road, Borella on a contract of Rs. 10 lakhs by the dentist, it was uncovered at investigations.

This super-tec exam fraud conducted with Spy Cam technology by directing it to the internet and then retrieving it through bluetooth technology was something which was previously not reported in Sri Lanka. For this reason alone plans have been contemplated by the Examinations Department on how to tackle examinations in future.
