A short while after both Lalith Weeratunga and Anusha Pelpita were imprisoned, the United Opposition including Mahinda rushed to meet Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasingha at Prime Minister's office in parliamentary complex.
The meeting had gone on for close upon an hour and Dallas Alahapperuma, Dinesh Goonawardena,
Udaya Gammanpila, Gamini Lokuge have attended the occasion. Former President Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa including others have discussed with Ranil about these two being transferred to prison hospital and in what manner the issue could be settled from an appeal, unofficial reports said.Perhaps after discussions being successful, last evening itself the two of them were transferred to prison hospital on their condition of suffering from a serious condition of Diabetes and was recommended a situation free from rigorous imprisonment. By now Dr. Nirmali Thenuwara had met the two prisoners at Ward 'K' and had examined them and had subsequently recommended them to be admitted to the prison hospital as patients suffering from acute Diabetes, it was reported.
