The Government has constructed houses for 5,000 low income families in the Vavuniya District. The Government has spent 295 million rupees for the project. The Ministry of Resettlement has constructed 1,500 houses and the Ministry of Housing and Construction has built 3,500 houses. The Government hopes to build another 5,000 houses this year.
