Another budget targeting the welfare of the people and the Government’s development objectives will be presented tomorrow.
President Rajapaksa, as Minister of Finance and Planning is scheduled to present the budget for next year in Parliament tomorrow. The Finance Ministry under the patronage of the President has formulated this budget through the efficient management of the state resources and with the intention of achieving socio-economic growth.
Accordingly, as in the past, the President solicited views and proposals from various sections of society in the formulation of the budget. Measures were taken to secure views and proposals of not only Parliamentarians but also of Government officials. Accordingly, the President will present the budget crafted in this manner in Parliament tomorrow.
It is the fourth budget to be presented by him during his second term of office. Ahead of its presentation the President scrutinized the Budget at Temple Trees last afternoon. He will also be presenting the budget with economic and social decisions needed to pave the way towards Sri Lanka becoming “Asia’s Wonder.”
