After several years five Russian Naval Ships belonging to Pacific Fleet have reached the Colombo Port.
The Sri Lanka Navy accorded a ceremonial welcome to the Russian Naval Ships as per naval traditions. The ships, “Admiral Panteleyev”, “Peresvet”, “Admiral Nevelsky”, “Fotiy Krylov” and “Pechenga”, were on their way from Mediterranean to the home port in Vladivostok.
The Admiral Nevelsky is a landing g ship carrying 24 officers and 115 seamen while Peresvet is also a landing ship. Admiral Panteleyev, an Udaloy-class anti-submarine destroyer has 92 officers and 336 seamen onboard. Three are three officers, 10 seamen and 49 sailors on board the Pechena vessel. Russian Mission Commander of Fleet, Captain 1st Rank Maxim Alalykin is taking part in ‘Galle Dialogue’ today.
