Deputy Minister Susantha Punchinilame has been acquitted in the Nalanda Ellawala murder case.
The Ratnapura high court today acquitted Deputy Minister of Economic Development Susantha Punchinilame of all charges in connection with the murder of Nalanda Ellawala. Ratnapura High Court Judge Achala Wengappuli announced the verdict today.
Susantha Punchinilame was indicted on the charges of gunning down Mr. Ellawala and Police Constable T Jayasena on 11 February 1997 in Kuruwita.
