The President visited the Visuddharama temple at Orugodawatte this morning and engaged in religious observances. A series of special religious ceremonies has been organized at this temple in view of the annual Maha Perahera.
The President after arriving at the temple paid obeisance at the Bauddha Mandiraya and also paid obeisance at the Kataragama Devale and the Lunawa Sri Suddhasuniyam Devale located at the Vihare premises and secured blessings. Chief incumbent of the temple the Ven. Kapuduwe Nandasiri Thera delivered a special anusasana.
The President also seized the opportunity to exchange pleasantries with devotees present in the temple. Members of the Maha Sangha and a former Chairman of the United National Party Malick Samarawickrema were among those present on the occasion.
