Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya expressing views to ITN said that the President expected to effect development to the Kurunegala, Puttalam and Kegalle Districts through this year’s Dayata Kirula. Nearly 20 million rupees was allocated for each District for the development work.

The Exhibition is now being staged completing almost half of the development work. In addition what is more important is the Exhibition grounds and the surroundings. He said that nearly 60 thousand square feet of the buildings put up within the exhibition premises were totally constructed by Government establishments within six months. He specially mentioned the targets they had achieved.

The Minister said that the Exhibition portrays the proud history of Sri Lanka. It may be a person or a community, everyone should be aware of the country’s history. At the same time the country is facing challenges and these are being surmounted. He mentioned that a nation meant not an individual or a party, but everyone. Everyday about 400 institutions are engaged in meeting their objectives through displays, features and may be musical shows. Plans are afoot to make tomorrow more attractive than today on behalf of the people.
