Reconstruction of the Jaffna Railway Station which was devastated by the terrorists has been launched.
This Railway Station which is located in the Ariyakulam area in Jaffna was used as the main railway halt while the Yaal Devi was operating to Jaffna. But the ruthless terrorists devastated the Ariyakulam Station, as one of the examples to show their cruelty of destroying public property. The Government which linked the North and the South after enthroning peace in the entire country, routing terrorism, has now initiated measures to reconstruct the Ariyakulam Railway Station in Jaffna. The allocation made for its reconstruction is 300 million rupees. Northern Governor G.A. Chandrasiri inspected the reconstruction work. He said that plans are afoot to complete this work before the forthcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
