Two United National Party members of the Mirigama Pradeshiya Sabha have met the President and joined the Freedom Alliance to consolidate its victory.
Thilak Ashoka and Sanath Ranasinghe, United National Partu members of the Mirigama Pradeshiya Sabha met President Rajapaksa at Temple Trees this morning as gave an assurance to dedicate themselves to consolidate the victory of the United People’s Freedom Alliance in the Western Provincial Council poll. Thilak Ashoka and Sanath Ranasinghe, who were stalwarts of the United National Party for a long period had been victorious at every Local Government poll. Ministers Basil Rajapaksa, Felix Perera and Mervyn Silva and Parliamentarian Wasantha Senanayake were present on the occasion.
The two UNP Pradeshiya Sabha who members who crossed over the Alliance said that they decided to join hands with the President to serve the country and the nation since they will not be getting an opportunity to serve their native country under a UNP regime.
