Ven. Galaboda Gnanissara Thera calls on the nation to safeguard the freedom won without forgetting the past
The Ven. Galaboda Gnanissara Thera has said that the past should not be forgotten. He emphasized that the entire nation should unite to protect its freedom by refuting international accusations directed at Sri Lanka
The prelate said that there is an attempt by countries such as the United States and Britain to debilitate Sri Lanka’s economy by imposing sanctions. As such they visited the US Embassy in Colombo and handed in a memorandum saying that human rights is not an issue that should be raised against Sri Lanka. The country will be protected by Gods, if the world community was accusing Sri Lanka of violating human rights during the war. He called on all communities and all those who profess religious faiths to unite and safeguard freedom overcoming the initiatives taken by imperialist countries.
