The President has vested in the people the Delkanda Public Fair with all facilities.

President vested in the public today Delkanda Fair which has been built at a cost of 132 million rupees. President Mahinda Rajapaksa vested in the public this morning the newly built fair at Rattanapitiya. The President who inspected the premises spoke with the traders and the people. The fair known as “Irida Delkanda Sathi Pola” , has begun about 120 years ago in the Delkanda village. Thereafter it was held on one side of the High Level road. Traders and public had to face numerous difficulties as it did not have many facilities. Paying his attention to the matter, the President directed the officials to build a new market place at Rattanapitiya. Accordingly the new market place was built on a one acre plot of land under the guidance of Defence and Urban Development Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. It has facilities for more than 350 traders. The fair is held on all seven days of the week. The public and the traders expressed their appreciation to the Government for building the market place. Meanwhile the President has vested in the public the Mahindodaya Technical Laboratory at Kaduwela Kotalawala Maha Vidyalaya. The laboratory built under the project on developing one thousand schools, was vested in the students by President Mahinda Rajapaksa last evening. This technical laboratory is consisted of fully equipped mathematics centre, language and computer laboratory and a distance learning centre. The President exchanged views with the students. Meanwhile the President who took part in the public rally at Kaduwela, Kotalawala went to Sri Sugatha Bimbaramaya at Nawagamuwa sacred city engaged in religious observances. The President met Chief incumbent Venerable Malwane Pannasara Thero and exchanged views with him. The President also visited the Pattini Devala.
