What happened to UNP MPs during visit to Hambantota?

What happened to the United National Party Parliamentarians who visited the South to view development? What is the truth in the publicity given by certain media? One of our media teams visited Hambantota to find out the truth.

Five United National Party Parliamentarians visited the South recently to have a glimpse of the development that has taken place in the region. MPs Ajith Manapperums, Ajith P. Perera, Eran Wickremaratne, Nalin Bandara Jayamaha and R. Yogarajan joined in this tour.

The visit was organized claiming that it was better to visit the South and study how the country was being developed rather than visiting the United States such as the Party Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe to study how to rule a country.

The group of UNP Parliamentarians visited the South on the Southern Expressway which clearly depicts the miracle of development. The UNP Parliamentary group first visited the Mattala Airport and they received a warm welcome there. Their observation of the Airport was also successful. They were able to have an awareness of the truth. But what happened?

What happened to the Hambantota Harbour? As they visited the Mattala Airport, they also visited the Hambantota Harbour. They also witnessed how the ships had come to the Harbour. The faces of these MPs explicitly indicated that they had understood the real situation at the Harbour. But what did actually happen?

The Southern polity could not really bear the false campaigns mooted by the UNP that no planes were landing at the Mattala Airport, no vessels were approaching the Hambantota Harbour and that the Hambantota Harbour would be transformed into a swimming pool under the UNP Government. These people made queries from the UNP Parliamentarians on the statements made by the UNP against these development activities.
