Sri Lanka commemorates “World Book and Copyright Day” on a grand scale. It is observed annually on April 26th.
The commemoration ceremony was organized by the Extension Services Division of the National Library and Documentation Services Board. The importance of protecting patent rights in Sri Lanka was emphasized at this event.
Representatives from books publications, drama, film and mass media fields were represented at this event held under the patronage of Chairman of the National Library and Documentation Services Board Somaratne Balasuriya and its Director General W. Sunil. Director General of the National Intellectual Property Office Geethanjali Ranawaka and many scholars expressed their views.
