A new water supply scheme is to be launched at the behest of the President with the intention of preventing the spread of the kidney diseases within the Northwestern Province.
Many programmes have been launched in the Northwestern Province to control the spread of the kidney diseases within the Northwestern Province. In parallel, plans are afoot to launch another programme of providing pure drinking water to the people in the Province.
Minister T.B. Ekanayake said that the President has given instructions to launch a drinking water project covering the Yapahuwa and Galgamuwa electorates. The Minister revealed that the allocation made for this scheme is 7670 million rupees. The Minister gave these details apprising representatives of the Divisional Development Committee of the Yapahuwa electorate. Parliamentarian Tharanath Basnayake was among the people’s representatives present on the occasion.
