The 2015 Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition is scheduled to be held at the Ruhuna University premises.
A special meeting presided by President Rajapaksa was held at the Presidential Secretariat. Inquiries were made at this meeting on the 2014 Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition while those who contributed to its success were acclaimed. The meeting also discussed the 2015 Deyata Kirula National Exhibition.
Many Parliamentarians, Governors, Provincial Chief Ministers, Provincial Minister, Ministry Secretaries including Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Heads of Security Forces were present at this meeting. The meeting discussed at length on the plans for the 2015 Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition. Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya presented the entire report on the 2014 Deyata Kirula Exhibition to the President. The President handed over Awards and Certificates to victorious establishments at the Exhibition.
The Coconut Development Ministry won the Award for the Best Stall of the 2014 Deyata Kirula Exhibition. The second place was secured by the Navy, while the third and fourth places were secured by the Army and Indigenous Medicine Ministry. The Air Force won the fifth place while the sixth place was secured by the Special Task Force. The Award for the seventh place was given to the Civil Defence Department. The Ministry of Industries and Commerce received the Award for securing the eighth place. The ninth place was won by the Economic Development Ministry. The 10th place was secured by the Environment Ministry.
In addition, the President handed over Awards and Certificates for establishments which launched the best programme during the mobile services mooted by the Economic Development Ministry in parallel to the Exhibition. District Secretaries and Divisional Secretaries of the Kurunegala, Kegalla and Puttalam Districts who made a vital contribution for the success of the 2014 Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition came in for praise.
