LTTE terrorists condemned the whole humanity with their barbaric actions. The dark memories contains the shadows of the memories of that brutal terrorism. On 14th June 1990 LTTE terrorists took the life of a soldier at Kilinochchi. Two soldiers were killed on the same day in a separate attack at Uppuweli by the terrorists. A high powered claymore bomb exploded killing four soldiers who were travelling in a vehicle at Morawewa on 14th June 1992. Two heroic soldiers lost their lives when terrorists ambushed them on 14th June 1998 at Maankulum. An LTTE suicide bomber exploded himself killing two civilians on 14th June 2000 at Wattala. On 14th June 2008, LTTE terrorists attacked a platoon of soldiers who were providing security at Mundimuruppu – Vavuniya, killing two of them. The ruthless terrorism was eliminated from the motherland on 18th May 2009. By that day, LTTE terrorists had destroyed the lives of 22 people including 18 soldiers and 4 innocent civilians. The heroic soldiers achieved true freedom for the country under the brave leadership of Commander in Chief, President Mahinda Rajapaksa and on the directions of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Many heroic soldiers sacrificed their lives and limbs to achieve freedom for the motherland. They are eternal heroes of the era. Although certain local and foreign elements against the country do not acknowledge the heroism of the soldiers, the people in the country will never forget them.
