For the first time in the history of Prisons Department,
Prison officials have been granted many incentives. Commissioner General of Prisons Chandrarathna Pallegama presided over the ceremony to handover the incentive schemes. 6,000 Prison officials are entitled to the incentive schemes which include the risk, health, night patrol, security duties and travelling. Appointment letters were given to those who were promoted to the post of Jailor Guards. Prisons Commissioner said that such incentive schemes would help to enhance efficiency of Prison officials.
