United National Party Uva Provincial Councillor Ravi Gunawardena has said that he decided to join the United People’s Freedom Alliance by leaving his Party has he had a clear awareness of the present programmes mooted by the President. Ravi Gunawardena a member of the Uva Provincial Council and the United National Party organizer of Bandarawela joined the United People’s Freedom Alliance today making a special statement at the Provincial Council meeting. Mr. Gunawardena said that he took a decision effective from today with the consent of the President, and the Chief Minister and his Cabinetm and also with the nod of Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, to cross over and serve as a member of the United People’s Freedom Alliance.
