The Vietnamese Ambassador has applauded the manner in which
the Northern civilians are reaping the dividends of peace. He has expressed willingness to launch several factories within the Northern Province.
Vietnamese Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh said that civilians of the North have received much relief as a result of the programmes launched by the Government to develop the North following the end of the conflict and that it is laudable to note the manner in which the Northerners are fully reaping the dividends of freedom and peace.
During a discussion with Northern Governor G.A. Chandrasiri after touring the North, the Vietnamese diplomat said his Government has decided to launch several new factories in the Province.
It is an arduous task to rebuild areas which had been subject to devastation as a result of terrorism. But Ton Sinh Thanh declared that Sri Lanka had surmounted this challenge setting an example to other countries in the world.
The Northern Governor elaborated to the Vietnamese Ambassador development projects such as Uthuru Wasanthaya and Divi Neguma for the benefit of the Northern polity.
