Minister Basil Rajapaksa has told the newly appointed Grama
Niladhari Officers to exploit the opportunity received by them to serve the village to achieve the target of developing the country.
The Minister made this observation handing over letters of appointment to 225 newly appointed Grama Niladhari Officers of the Gampaha District. The permanent appointment letters were presented to the group recruited last March as trainee officers. Further addressing the new recruits, Minister Rajapaksa said that the building of the village through the Grama Niladhari Officers has already been started according to the Mahinda Chinthana.
The Minister told the new recruits that after serving as election officers or administrative officers, the Grama Niladhari Officers got involved in the building of the family, the village and the country during the President’s term of office.
Deputy Ministers Pandu Bandaranayake and Lasantha Alagiyawanna were among those present on the occasion.
