Strike over! Bribery Commission willing to approach Mahinda

Strike over! Bribery Commission willing to approach Mahinda ....

Problem solved

A short while before this, the protestors who protested yesterday and today against former president Mahinda
Rajapaksa being called to the Bribery Commission asking that it be stopped have decided to call off their protest at parliament. It was after the Minister of Justice Wijeydasa Rajapaksa had discussed with the Bribery Commission and had suggested that the matter be conducted in a different manner. As such, instead of ex-President going over to the Bribery Commission, the Commission would visit Mahinda's home and would carry out the necessary inquiries.

As considered by the protestors, what former Minister Wimal Weeravansha said last night was because of this reason, he would not grant his consent even for aspiration of the masses for the 19th Amendment.  He had remarked that if the government has brains of at least a potato they should refrain from causing harassment of this sort at a moment when 19 is brought forward.

The augur for this interrogation has been cited as bestowing a portfolio of Minister as a bribe to Tissa Atthanayaka who came from the UNP for political gain by former President during the final stages of the past general election. The Bribery Commission has so far not had the necessity of questioning him on any other accusation during the tenure of the ex-President.
