WAS IT TO MAITHRI THAT MAHINDA SAID 'PARAIH?'
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who made a sensational statement at the first propaganda
rally of the United People's Freedom Alliance recently said that 'though Ranil was unable to separate parawa from paraiah', he is able to do so.With this statement whom did he refer to as 'paraih?' Was it to his Party chairman Maithripala Sirisena? A dialogue is brewing in political circles about this. Though the former President has referred directly to Ranil on this speech a number of times, he had expressed points of opposition against the chairman of his Party but in an indirect way. In one instance he mentioned that he handed over the position of chairman unhesitatingly to Maithripala.
