The Government is spending 5800 million rupees on a new Water Scheme for the resolution of the drinking water problems faced in the Vavuniya area. It is the massive Drinking Water Scheme launched in the Northern Province. The Scheme is being launched by building a three kilometer long dam across the Peraru Canal at Raasendrakulam.
