A separate May Day rally by the joint opposition
It is reported that the members of the joint opposition propose to have a separate may day rally.The separate May Day rally is to be named as the "joint opposition
May Day" rally.A meeting had been held by the members of the joint opposition yesterday the 5th instant at the residence of the former president and member of parliament for the Kurunegala district Mahinda Rajapaksa at Mirihana.
Accordingly the plan is to commence the "joint opposition" rally from Shalika grounds Narahenpita and to walk along to the Lalith Athulathmudali ground in Polhengoda,Colombo 05.The rally is to be led by the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.
At this meeting held yesterday the SLFP member of Parliament for Kesbewa Gamini Lokuge had proposed that this rally should be definitely held as by the joint opposition rally.
In the meantime however all members of the SLFP including the members of the joint opposition had met the president Maithripala Sirisena and discussed about the May Day rally.
