Famous popular Actor Ravindra Randeniya was appointed and served as a advisor to the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.After the government of Mahinda Rajapaksa was toppled
he lost this advisory post and was a bit unheard.A certain web site had published a fake news that Ravindra Randeniya due to losing his position is to migrate.This news had gone viral.

However when Ravindra Randeniya was interviewed by the Sarasaviya newspaper he had refuted this news.But had admitted that is a bit frustrated after been stripped off his post as president's advisor.Although he is subjected to many obstacles he had admitted that he is frustrated.Some of the excerpts from the interview are appended below:

To a great extent.

Some people are directing their fingers at me for the situation the film industry is at present. For any draw back some person would point the finger at him.He had added that he only worked on behalf of the film industry.He was involved in the importing, distribution and exhibiting them.He had said that in the areas that he was not involved is what is happening in the film industry.

Absolutely I was the advisor.Through my  intervention I was able able to obtain tax concessions?Without taking advantage over the tax concessions accusing me is incorrect.I am also accused why I did not make the cinema industry digital. From the year 2012 for three years or so we were trying to make it digital.We tried our best after appointing a related committee.My conscience knows the dedication I made to make it happen.

What under several previous governments,related authorities and  Ministers could not resolve how could it be resolved by me without having a ministerial portfolio.

I am able to stay in this field is not because for two to three years been the president;s advisor.From 1971 I had been toiling hard against many constraints I have been able to remain as an actor.I had sacrificed a lot in my personal life to remain as an actor.The people and fans know about it.But several authorities in the film industry do not know of it.

Since of late there are some people who try to attack me.I should tell that I am not anyone's employee.I am here because of the status that I have earned.But in the future I will not work towards the film industry, talk for those in the industry, but will keep silent.

Yes it is a clear statement.I will not go to explain anything on the film industry.Even if the film corporation catches fire I will not go along that road.However until death I would remain to act in this field.All these have happened as I had ventured on matters I cannot succeed.Even if there any function on the film industry I will not be present for it also.

The news of my migrating was a very valuable news.It carried a huge weight age There were allegations that I had misappropriated funds from Ranmihithenna. After sacrificing my time I was nor left with any results.It is challenged that if some one could prove that I misappropriated funds from Ranminithenna.I have never taken a  red cent.As a media advisor to the president I had not accepted a single cent not even a petrol allowance.The money was deposited to an account.Out of which I donated rupees one million for the development of the film industry.The balance money was spent on  needy artistes for illnesses and for their activities.I am a person who loves my motherland.Today it has become national sport to tarnish the reputation of others.In a way one gets the feeling why should remain in the country when such  false accusations are made.
