In Colombo 10 pandals and 3 Vesak zones this year
Owing to the recent climatic catastrophe that was caused owing to incessant rain and floods some organizers of Vesak pandals had cancelled most Vesak celebrations that had been pre planned.
However in Colombo and the suburbs there are 10 pandals erected for devotees to view as well as 3 Vesak zones.
Accordingly there are pandals erected at Thotalanga,Peliyagoda ,Kiribathgoda, Layards Broadway,Pettah,Manning Market, Kotahena,Rajagiriya,Bauddhaloka Mawatha ,Vawam Mawatha.The Vesak zones could be witnessed at Bauddhaloka Mawatha ,Navam Mawatha .Kotahena and Kelaniya.These pandals and he Vesak zones have been organized by civil organisations for devotees to witness.
