The Kerosene Dansela of "Sardarana Mudalali" for the 17th time
The very famous "Sadarana Mudalali" the proprietor of Sadarana Stores in Kuruvitenna Mahiyanganaya,Tissa Hewawasam has held his annual Kerosene Dansela for people who live without electricity in the surrounding remote areas outside Kuruvitenna, Mahiyanganaya for
the 17th time on the Vesak full moon day on the 21st instant.This annual Kerosine Dansela was held on the Vesak full moon day at the Rideemaliyadde Konmandiya Sri Sumangalaraya vihara premises on the Vesak day.
This Dansela was mainly organised as in the past 16 years to issue free kerosene oil to residents in the Mahayaya, Konmandiya, Embilithillanketiya,Bingoda residents who do not have electricity connections.The Dansela as in the previous years was organized to issue free kerosene to the residents in those areas.
The "Sardarana Mudalali",the proprietor of the Sadarana Stores Tissa Hewawasam had been paying the electricity bill of about 150 Buddhist temples scattered in several districts over a number of years.The districts where these temples are located are Hambantota, Badulla, Kandy ,Colombo ,Ratnapura, Anuradhapura,,Puttalam, Nuwara Eliya , Galle,Trincomalee, Kurunegala etc.
It is reported that as in the previous years the "Saradana Mudalali" had distributed among the people from the above areas 15 barrels of Kerosene and one barrel of coconut oil among the needy and less privileged.
